The desire to start a modernization process of the Renato Dall'Ara stadium will involve, in addition to an enhancement of such an important architectural asset of the city, also a substantial improvement in the impact that the stadium has on the surrounding context.

Lo Stadio Dall’Ara, una volta ristrutturato, sarà in grado di accogliere circa 30.000 spettatori e ospiterà, oltre alle funzioni strettamente connesse all’evento sportivo (spogliatoi, area media, ospitalità...) anche destinazioni terziarie e ludiche.

All grandstands will be very close to the field, 7.50 m from the game line, creating a Stadium in the Stadium. The existing curves will be replaced with new stands with a steel structure and prefabricated steps. The spaces between the perimeter wall and the new terraces will be used for recreational and tertiary activities that will be functional and independent even during the match-day. The new Maint and East stands will instead be built in "overlapping" to the existing ones.

The stadium roof, a fundamental element of aesthetic and functional qualification of the architectural structure, is studied with a lentiform shell type, covered with opaque aluminum and translucent polycarbonate panels, which form an envelope made up of 3 overlapping “nails” one with the other letting light and air pass.

In this way a modern and safe system is obtained; an incomparable, special and exclusive space where the game is the pinnacle of a whole day of joy and serenity.
